Music @ The Intersection

2015 St. Louis Cabaret Festival

cabaret The Cabaret Project of St. Louis will present the 10th Annual St. Louis Cabaret Festival July 22-25 in Grand Center, in conjunction with the 2015 Cabaret Conference. Headliners Marilyn Maye, Jason Robert Brown and Christine Ebersole will perform at The Sheldon Concert Hall July 22-24, and the Conference Showcase featuring conference participants will take place July 25 at the Kranzberg Arts Center.  Tickets & info

New Leadership for St. Louis Symphony
and Pulitzer Arts Foundation

Grand Center is excited to welcome Marie-Hélène Bernard as President and CEO of the St. Louis Symphony and Cara Starke as Director of Pulitzer Arts Foundation.
marie helene bernardMs. Bernard previously held the position of Executive Director and CEO of the Handel and Haydn Society in Boston. She also served as Chief of Staff, Project Manager, and Orchestra Manager for the Philadelphia Orchestra; Orchestra Manager for the Cleveland Orchestra; and President and CEO of the Canton (OH) Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Bernard began her tenure in St. Louis on July 1. Read more

cara starkeMs. Starke has served as the Director of Exhibitions at Creative Time in New York since 2011, where she realized some of the organization’s most ambitious public art projects in the organization’s 40 year history. Prior to joining Creative Time, Ms. Starke served as the Assistant Curator for the Department of Media and Performance Art at the Museum of Modern Art. Ms. Starke will assume her new role on July 13. Selections from the MOCRA Collection


The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) at Saint Louis University presents selected works from the MOCRA collection now through August 2. Visitors can enjoy recent acquisitions being shown for the first time as well as works that have not been presented in several years. MOCRA is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. More info

The Dark Room Wine Bar & Photo Gallery presents the work of St. Louis photographer Santiago Bianco now through August 4. Mr. Bianco, one of many photographers who documented the civil unrest prevalent in St. Louis last summer, was inspired to compile images for the upcoming book “Chronicle: Ferguson,” which will also include the work of many other photographers. Kranzberg Jazz Jam Every Wednesday, Bob Deboo hosts “The Kranzberg Jazz Jam,” featuring special guests from around the St. Louis area. This FREE event is open to all musicians of all ages. Come down to Grand Center ready to showcase your chops or just to listen to some quality jazz!  The Jam is on every Wednesday evening, including July 15, 22 & 29, 7-9pm. More info
